About the Breed
Developed in England in the late 1800s, the Buff Orpington quickly became a favorite for both small farms and backyard flocks. Their rich golden plumage and full, fluffy build make them a standout, but their true strength lies in their calm temperament and dual-purpose utility.
Buff Orpingtons are exceptionally friendly and easy to handle, making them a top choice for families and first-time chicken keepers. They’re hardy, adaptable, and do well in both free-range and enclosed environments. Known for their docile nature, they integrate easily into mixed flocks.
