About the Breed
The Austra White is a cross between an Australorp hen and a White Leghorn rooster, bringing together some of the best qualities of both breeds. The result is a hardy, productive bird with the calm nature of the Australorp and the outstanding laying ability of the Leghorn.
Austra Whites are active, adaptable foragers that do well in free-range settings as well as enclosed coops. They tend to be friendly, alert, and easy to manage, making them an excellent choice for families, backyard flocks, and small farms. Their clean white feathers also make them a beautiful addition to any flock.

At 7–8 weeks old, these pullets are fully feathered, hardy, and coop-ready — no supplemental heat required. Our pullets are raised in small batches with care. They’re hardy, healthy, and hand-raised right here on our regenerative Maryland farm.

Farm Pick-Up: Available at our Brandywine, MD farm. Once your order is placed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to schedule your pick-up appointment.
Please bring a secure carrier — such as a small dog crate, ventilated box, or sturdy moving box.

We take every measure to ensure your birds arrive safely and comfortably. To cover the cost of specialized live poultry boxes, shipping materials, handling, and USPS live animal surcharges, a per-box shipping and handling fee applies in addition to USPS Priority Express postage, which is calculated at checkout.

All live poultry shipments go out via USPS Priority Express on Mondays or Tuesdays to ensure same-week delivery. Customers must provide a phone number for the post office to call upon arrival for pick-up.
